BLOOMSBURG – Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia) announced today that the Town of Bloomsburg will receive a $118,900 grant for the design and construction of a new boat launch facility on its property at the confluence of Fishing Creek and the Susquehanna
River in Columbia County. The project would include a new motorized and nonmotorized launch ramp, paved parking, and an access road and path.

“Protecting freedoms and personal rights are important to me,” said Leadbeter. “Fishing and boating are great ways to maintain and grow conservative traditions and values. I’m pleased to announce this funding for the young people, hardworking families, seniors, and veterans who call Columbia County home.

“Our area is blessed to have these beautiful waterways,” said state Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R Columbia/Luzerne/Montour/Noruthumberland/Snyder). “This project will ensure local residents continue to have access to these waterways and the recreational opportunities they provide.”

The grant was awarded through the Boating Facility Grant program, with funds derived primarily from boat registration fees, state motorboat fuels tax and restricted revenue accounts, if applicable.
