HARRISBURG – A roadway project in the 109th Legislative District was awarded $500,000 in Multimodal Transportation Funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), according to Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia).

Franklin Township was awarded this grant funding to repair and pave three roads.

"It's about time we see public resources rightfully returning to Columbia County and our cherished rural communities, rather than continually being siphoned off to the big urban centers like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh,” Leadbeter said. "The awarding of funds aligns with our conservative values and my legislative pillars of prioritizing the local needs of famers, small businesses, hardworking families, seniors, and law enforcement who use these roads every day.”

“These state grant dollars will help pay to repair and pave these three roads without further burdening local taxpayers,” Culver said. “This is an example of state government providing financial resources to fund important projects in our local communities.”

Grant awards are based on such criteria as safety benefits, regional economic conditions, technical and financial feasibility, job creation, energy efficiency, and operational sustainability.

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the Commonwealth.
