State Grant Funding Awarded to Berwick Area School District, Says Leadbeter

April 30, 2025

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia) announced today the Berwick Area School District is receiving a $75,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s PAsmart Advancing Grants for Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.

The money will support collaboration between schools and a local or regional CTE provider or will help communities design and plan local and/or regional approaches to expanding CTE education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and computer science.

“This is great news for our community, as these funds will support efforts to bolster family-sustaining jobs in Pennsylvania by investing in education programs focused on STEM and other critical areas,” said Leadbeter.

This funding is part of the $10.35 million allocated to 55 organizations across 29 counties. The program is designed to expand access to computer science and STEM education across the Commonwealth.
